The Original

The 404 coupe makes its appearance in the Peugeot range after the cabriolet version. More precisely at the time of its presentation at the Paris Motor Show, in October 1962. It is also styled by Pininfarina, and mainly based on the cabriolet, it is aimed at a customer who is eager for discretion. Very serious and distinguished, it is characterized by its rear window slightly set back from the roof which gives a straighter body line than that of the cabriolet. It will often be said that the coupe is more stylish than the cabriolet. With the advent of 504 coupe in October 1968, the curtain is definitely drawn on one from the most elegant cars of its generation. Indeed being amongst the most beautiful French cars of the Sixties, it is a very collectible item.
