The Model

A legend, now in Die Cast miniature. A master piece in all aspects. Minichamps created a model that can stand out alone with its perfect interior and exterior details.

The Original

Porsche 911 Carrera Targa 1983

When the Carrera 3.2 was introduced in 1983, the Porsche 911 was already looking back at a history of 20 years. The ingenious concept and shape of the car had remained virtually untouched but in its details, the 911 has been developed continuously over the years, the car now presenting itself in a previously unattained degree of balanced perfection

The heart of the Carrera 3.2 obviously was the classical, air cooled flat six Boxer engine. An increase in displacement by 0.2l compare to its predecessor meant that the power output grew to 231hp. By the time of its introduction, this engine had the world's highest specific power output among production cars. Nevertheless it was fully suitable for daily use and surprisingly economic, too. Its durability is almost legendary today. Many examples covered more than 300,000 kms without problems

The chassis had been cured of some unnecessary hard and tricky attributes that were still present with earlier 911s and, without power steering, provided the purest of driving fun. Not surprisingly this version of the car is today regarded as the last "classical 911" b many connoisseurs.
