The Model

The Original

The Porsche 924 was originally scheduled to become the successor model to the VW Porsche 914, and just like this one, it was a mix of various technical components of the VW group and Porsche. As the new model, however, turned out to expensive and complex for VW, and as VW already had a potent sports car - the Scirocco - in their production line, Porsche eventually incorporated it into their own prgramm. From this point on, it moved on to become the best selling model, andparticularly the export markers were excited to incorporate it. Its chassis frame was acclaimed in particular, its transaxle engineering allowing quite a neutral and thus fool proof driving style. So at least in this regard, the 924 was able to outplay his big brother the 911.
