The Original

1999 found Paul Gentilozzi to retain his crown as the Trans Am championship winner. In 1999 he switched to a Mustang Cobra sponsored by HomeLink and Johson Controls. The 1999 season would be not an easy one as Paul trailed Brian Simo for most of the season in the points standings. Paul spent the season battling his way back to regain the number one spot. The hard work of Gentilozzi's team payed off with the year end results being a repeat of the previous season. Gentilozzi captured his second consecutive championship in oe of the closest points finished to date.
