Auto Union Type C, 1936, Sieger GP Deutschland
1936 became the year of the Auto Union and its young driver Bernd Rosemeyer.
He became the new star in the European racing scene. It was the class of the titans, Mercedes- Benz vs Auto Union, The GP of Germany at the 26st of July was just another round of that fight.
This Agile and highly talented Bernd Rosemeyer, was able like no other to handle the 16 cylinder v-engine powerhouse of the hard to drive Auto Union Type C. The mid-mounted engine of the vehicle, developed by Dr. Ferninand Porsche, was groundbraking for its time.
With his starting number 4, Bernd Rosemeyer achieved a prestigious victory. His team mate Hans Stuck, also on Auto Union Type C, became 2nd. Mercedes-Benz had to leave the track with empty hands this time.
