The Original

Mercedes Benz 300 SLR (W196S) Mille Miglia Victory, 1955

I was 7:22 a.m. on May 2 1955 when Stirling Moss and his Co pilot as well as navigator Denis Jenkinson revved their 300 SLR to a roaring departute with the starting Number "722" (Which is equivalent to their starting time). Their goal is to complete the 22nd race of the 1.600 km Mille Miglia race as fast as possible.

Stirling Moss is forcing the 300 SLR to its limits mercilessly and, in the meantime , also taxing himself to the limits determinedly. But still his driving on the dangerous Italian streets is deliberate and controlled. The smart and meticulous instructions from his co-pilot, given by hand signals, also prove invaluable.

The result of that kamikaze drive became legendary. A superior victory with an unbelievable new track record of 10 hours, 7 minutes and 48 seconds! At an average speed of 157.65 km/h, the Moss/Jenkinson team crossed the finished line in Brescia, and they also beat the legendary Mercedes associate J.M. Fangio. Their success and record were bound to be of long lasting endurance for the most dangerous public street race in the world.

CMC has recreated this victorious car of 1955 with the Highest possible level of details. More than 1,500 single parts of high quality materials are use to build this handcrafted model. Only with CMC craftsmanship can you see the 300 SLR in its full charm and dynamic.

A model that will excite you.
